Unfinished Business Theatre Company was set up in early 2010 and produces original, daring theatre in Kent and mainly within the Canterbury area. It is run by Alex Israel and Danny Pegg. The two came together through university, and worked together creatively for what seemed like a very long time creatively on all sorts of things before having the spectacular idea to strike out for the hills and create the perfect vehicle to allow them to make bigger and better juicy chunks of theatre.
The idea was to bring a bit more original theatre to the table (there's no such thing as too much!) and so that's exactly what they're doing. Since the two do fashion themselves (in their own minds, and no-where else) as quite the Dynamic Duo, they wanted to bring a bit of that edginess to their projects, and that can be seen from the very beginnings: The Penis Monologues, they think you'd agree, is a bit darn out there!
The Company plans to continue delivering things that are a bit weird and wonderful, as well as original, for the foreseeable future, hopefully! Nothing short of an early apocalypse could bring about the end of Unfinished Business, after all, it's not done yet!

Alex Israel – Company Director/Producer directors@unfinished-business.org.uk  Alex likes to think of himself like Frankenstein. Not the monster, the man, although he is sometimes thought of as just as scary. Alex enjoys long walks on the beach on his way to the graveyard, where he is not averse to the odd bit of body snatching on a moonlit stroll. Other theatre companies and professional organisations in the past have not been put off by Alex's slightly gruesome tastes. Of course now he is one of the directors of Unfinished Business he can share with the world all the various experiences he has aquired and opinions on regeneration he has. He enjoys creating something individual which will "come alive" for the audience. Rather than using various experiments with lightning to achieve this he relies on his directorial experience and acting instincts. Also an experienced script editor and currently edits and rejigs all scripts which unfinished business decides to produce unless it is a full moon! |
Danny Pegg – Company Director/Producer directors@unfinished-business.org.uk  Danny is a bit like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Most of the time, if you were to catch him at a cafe perhaps, he would be lovingly scribbling away at something he was sure was definitely a soon-to-be masterpiece, and he would most definitely string together a sentence with which to engage you with in conversation. It definitely would not just contain a single syllable. However, come rehearsals, and somehow, somewhere, he has snuck himself a little potion. If you were to catch him then, he would most likely be looking a little worse for wear unable to do anything but scream 'ACT!' at people. He is probably best avoided during the later phases. Regardless, he keeps it under control most of the time. Although if you stumble across him screaming at a waitress who doesnt understand how she just became the leading lady against her will, its probably best to approach with caution. |
